couple of miles on Colorado Trail then we bolt left

Impressed with the strength... pushed the branch up

serious off trail "bush" whacking
Played with the compass. Wanted to hit Windy Peak (off trail route), but the boulders where thick as thieves and I wanted to beat Labor Day traffic home. Navigated a beautiful triangle back to the trail...

street work is finally done!

this went on for a month... new gas main....house is back in there somewhere....

Capitol Peak trail work weekend

hiking in... yes... it was that wet
Hiked 6 miles in on Thursday. Rained a lot on the way in, last hour was a down pour. Friday morning, lots of low clouds and fog. but it never rained. Saturday was picture perfect.  I really enjoyed the trail work. Friday night had a guest in my tent. A mouse chewed through my tent. that was fun at 3am....
trail building!

At the big turn of the hike

Looking back up the trail

Great day for a hike

Camped over night with Peter, then we did the Fern Lake Hike.  Trail was full of horseshit and horseshit flies... but it's a good thing the park doesn't allow dogs....!
